Carol Ann Williams

81, Appleton, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018. She was born July 7, 1936 to the late Jerome and Ethel (Meidam) Linskens in Ladysmith, WI. She graduated from Appleton High School in 1954. Carol married James L. Williams on May 12, 1956 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Appleton. She worked at the WI Telephone Company in the business office before she stayed home to raise her three boys. Carol was involved in the scouts as a den mother and later when the boys were older was a floral designer at Steins. She loved crafts, crocheting and was an avid bowler. She also was an avid Packers and Chicago Blackhawks fan. Carol enjoyed spending many years with the family at their cottage on Lake Winnebago.  Carol volunteered at AMC for over twenty years and made many trips to area nursing homes visiting with friends and the elderly. She and Jim were long time members of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

Her daughters-in-law took Carol on a trip of a lifetime to New York last year which was highlighted by a blessing from Cardinal Timothy Dolan.

Carol will be greatly missed by her husband of 61 years, James: her beloved sons: Dan (Barb) Williams, Hortonville, Dave (Stacie) Williams, Appleton and Steve (Julie) Williams, Appleton; grandchildren: Lisa (Adam) Johnsen, Karen (Austin) Krueger, Kevin (Amanda) Williams, Dan (Casey) Williams, Sarah (Chuck) Northam, Max (Hannah, special friend) Williams and Mallory (Chris, special friend) Williams; great grandchildren: Graham, Emma, Jack, Kyle, Bianna and Azrael; brother Robert (Geri) Linskens, Phillips, WI; brother-in-law, Tom (Mary) Williams, OH; and close family friend, Greg Kinderman. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Carol will be held at 11 AM on Friday, Feb. 9. 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Jim Lucas officiating. Friends may visit the family directly at church on Friday from 9 – 11 AM. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, it was Carol’s wish that you consider a visit to a nursing home, or a kind act to an elderly friend or neighbor in her memory.

The family wishes to thank Rebecca and her team at Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care of Carol these past months. Also, a thank you to the staff of Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology.
