Douglas J. Deeg
It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved father, grandfather, son, and brother, Douglas J. Deeg, who passed on Friday, May 11, 2018. Doug was born in Appleton on March 10, 1955, the son of Eugene and Dorothy Deeg. Doug had a generous, giving soul and would help anyone in need. He was a kind and caring father, always putting his children first. His eyes would light up with joy each time he saw his grandsons.
Doug was a skilled machinist and dedicated employee of Giddings and Lewis in Fond du Lac for 30 years. He was also the proud owner of 4 Star Fun and Games in Appleton, which allowed him to play his favorite pinball machines including Addams Family. More of Doug’s greatest pastimes were playing Monopoly and cards with family and friends, collecting cars for his brother Dan to help repair and sharing family vacations with his children in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Doug is survived by his three adoring children: Sarah (Ben) Breister, Menasha; David Deeg, Appleton and Dawn (John) White, Atlantic City, NJ; grandsons: Brayden and Sebastian Breister; parents Eugene and Dorothy Deeg, Appleton; brother and best friend, Daniel (Jayne) Deeg, New London; sisters: Paula (John) Orzech, Viera, FL and Penny Amundson, Viera, FL and special friend Karen Vanlyssel, Grand Chute.
Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A memorial service for Doug will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 N. Oneida Street, Appleton, with Rev Chuck Fluegel officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
