Marcene D. Last, 84, Appleton, passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018 at ManorCare Nursing Home in Fond du Lac following a courageous battle with Alzheimers. She was born on August 10, 1934 in Stevens Point to the late Antoine and Regina Kropidlowski. Marcene graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School in 1952 and married Norman Last in Menasha on Oct. 15, 1955. Marcene was employed with Gimball’s, Zwickers, Nelson Vending and Marshall Fields. She and Norman were members of St. Bernadette Parish for many years. She loved to bowl, golf, play sheephead and cribbage and bingo.
She will be missed by her children: Susan (Ron) Wohlt, Oshkosh, David Last, Appleton and Patricia (Michael) Deering, Freedom; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Deering and her significant other, Crissa Hipp; a sister-in-law, Barbara McDonald as well as nieces and nephews.
Marcene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Michael; her God Parents, who raised her, Agnes & Thomas Woyak; siblings: Alton McDonald, Vernette Kruschke, Irene Bonion, Irmina Kropidlowski and Hank (Vi) Woyak; brother and sisters-in-law: Chuck (Jean) Last, Marian (Norman, ‘Tuffy’) Horn and Rosemary (Don) Keil.
A Mass of Resurrection for Marcene will be held at 11 AM, Friday, August 17, 2018 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church (2331 E. Lourdes Dr) Appleton with Rev. Donald Zuleger officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may visit the family directly at church Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass.
