Mary R. (Page) Kettner, age 101, of Appleton, went to be with her Savior on Monday, February 12,2018, at Brewster Village. She was born on July 18, 1916 in Sevastopol, WI, the daughter of Reuben and Mary (Gaunt) Page. After her parents moved from Door County to Appleton, WI, she met and later married Charles Kettner at St Patrick Catholic Church in Stephensville, WI on June 4, 1935 and they spent over 71 years together. Charles preceded her in death on January 19, 2007. Mary enjoyed making her family happy, playing cribbage with Charlie, traveling, reading, tending to her plants and garden, keeping her home neat and tidy and visiting with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Edward and Carol Kettner, Appleton, WI; John Kettner, King, WI; Mrs. William (Patricia) Kettner, Madison, WI; Mrs. Lawrence (Marie Gresens) Kettner, Appleton, WI; four daughters and sons-in-law: Helen and Robert Kellnhauser, Danbury, CT; Mary and Charles Cannistra, Wausau, WI; Ruth Kettner, Sherwood, WI; and Barbara and Dale Oliver, Littleton, CO; twenty-two grandchildren and fifty-three great grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister: Mrs. James Carvin (Margaret), Indianapolis, IN; and a brother: James Page, Libertyville, IL.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 71 years, her parents, sons: Lawrence Kettner, William Kettner; son-in-law Gary Hohnberger, three sisters and three brothers.
Rev Jon Thorsen will celebrate the Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton, WI. Friends may visit in the Sacred Heart Room at church on Saturday from 9:30 am until 10:45 am. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.
She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister, brother, friends and neighbors.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Brewster Village, The Mills Household, for the excellent and compassionate care provided Mary these past ten years. Mary loved all of you and we do too.
