Mary G (Muskat) Warne

March 10, 1928 ~ February 25, 2018 (age 89)

Mary Warne, age 89, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018.  She was born to the late Innocents and Mary (Brunner) Muskat on March 10, 1928.  She married Ross J. Warne on June 19, 1948 in Madison. 

Mary was a loving spouse and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, showering her family with unconditional love. She was most happy when she was surrounded by her children and their friends. Mom was very welcoming to anyone who wanted to stop by for a visit. Her interests were in fabrics and design, gardening, traveling and reading.  She provided her daughters and granddaughters with dresses and gowns from childhood to weddings, through her sewing expertise.  Later, she made memory quilts for the daughters and keepsake quilts for the grandchildren.  She also loved art and music of any kind, especially when one of her children or grandchildren were performing.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years Ross; her children: Gregory (Isabelle) Warne of France, Philip Warne of Mountain, Thomas (Diana) Warne of Eoyta, MN, Joseph Warne of Hortonville, James (Christina) Warne of Little Chute, Gail (Michael) McElroy of Big Bend, Carol Simonson of Monona, Ann (Patrick) Glasheen of Appleton, and Elizabeth (Jonathan) Winkle of Milwaukee; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brothers: Ralph (Donna) Muskat of Indianapolis, IN and Roger Muskat of Madison; sister Isabelle Berg of Madison; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by infant granddaughters: Emily and Katie Glasheen; an infant brother Raphael Muskat and brother Gregory (Mary) Muskat.

A Memorial Mass for Mary will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W Marquette Street, Appleton with Rev. James Jugenheimer.  Friends may visit directly at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
