Rose H. Voigt, age 103, of Appleton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Rennes Health Care Center. Rose was born in Kaukauna on September 16, 1914, to the late August and Elizabeth (Nushart) Vils. On April 26, 1941, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Voigt - the couple enjoyed nearly 50 years together until his death in 1990. Rose worked as a CNA in the newborn nursery at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 25 years. Rose loved travelling, camping, walking, and baking. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish for many years.
She is survived by her son Ron and daughter-in-law Noreen Voigt, Appleton; two granddaughters: Molly and Megan Voigt, Appleton; and great grandson, Carter. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law Stella Vils.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence, three brothers: Joseph, Frank, and Richard (Donna) Vils; and four sisters: Blanche (Clarence) Hansen, Alice Vils, Grace (Vincent) Jansen, and Marie (Jerome) Truyman.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday, December 27th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton, with Father Donald Zuleger officiating. Friends and family may visit in the Sacred Heart Room at church on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of service. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sheila Thiel and the entire staff at Rennes Health Care Center for the compassionate care given to Rose.
