Yvonne K (Erickson) Rhoads

January 4, 1938 ~ July 27, 2018 (age 80)

Yvonne Kay Rhoads, age 80, of Appleton, Clintonville, and Bear Creek has been called home after a long and brave struggle with Metastatic cancer at the Rennes Rehab Center in Appleton on July 27, 2018.

She was born January 4, 1938 in Bear Creek, daughter of the late Gertude and Peter Erickson.  She graduated Clintonville High School before relocating to Albuquerque with the family business, The Coffee Kup, where she spent most of her teenage years helping her parents run the shop. While in Albuquerque, she met her husband, Robert Edward Rhoads after which she relocated to California. Following their separation, she settled in Albuquerque until 2010, when she felt the need to "return to her Caanan land" of Wisconsin for her golden years.

Enjoying a full life at Oneida Heights center, she always had a warm and ready smile and greeting for everyone she met. Her joy was meeting new people and learning about their family's background and history.

Her hobbies included all things Elvis, movies form her era of the forties and fifties, her word search puzzles, baking, and her love for Biblical studies.

Although she had a variety of careers in her life, including switchboard operator, bindery specialist, courier and counter help, and server, she always considered her work to be spreading the Lord’s word, and all who met her were amazed by her dedication to Gods love and warm feelings for all she met.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother Melissa and Mark Cottrell, her parents Gertude Erickson (Klemm) and Peter Erickson, her brother Roger Erickson and her grandson Ethan. She is survived by her sons Scott and Paul, her daughters Lynn and Melissa and eight grandchildren.  We are indebted to Heartland Hospice and their staff, particularly Shelly.

A memorial service is planned at Oneida Heights, 525 N Oneida St. Appleton, at 1:00 on August 1, 2018 in the community room and flowers may be sent there. One of her greatest joys in life was receiving flowers so we will use them to honor her.  Please come and share your stories about this amazing woman and how she touched your life.
