Anna M. Kirk, age 87, of Appleton, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.  Anna was born in Door County on September 16, 1934, to the late Florian and Anna (Hegnet) Conard Sr.  On June 25, 1955, she was united in marriage to Otto Kirk.  The couple enjoyed 53 years together until Otto’s passing in 2009.  Anna worked for many years as a Nurse at Franciscan Care Center in Appleton.  She also worked as a chef’s helper at Chef Bills and Alex’s Crown in Appleton.  In her later years, she volunteered her time at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Home.  Anna was a longtime member at Sacred Heart Parish and had a great love of caring for others.  She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, watching the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and Bucks – but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Louise Froode, Fremont; son, Paul Kirk, Appleton; five grandchildren:  Angela Bayer, LouAnn (Clint) Prahl, Marcie (special friend Brian) Tushoski, Erica (Ben) Deleeuw, and Nicole Froode; 9 great grandchildren:  Taylor, Jaidah, Mckenzee, Saige, Brooklyn, Ariel, Easton, Lyric, and Tyson; 2 brothers:  Alphonse (Candy) Conard, New Frankin and Leonard (Faye) Conard, Luxemburg; and 2 sisters:  Theresa Annoye, Sturgeon Bay and Barbara Paul, Dykesville.  She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many much-loved brothers and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law David, 5 brothers:  Lawrence, Francis, Florian Jr., Jimmy, and David Conard; sisters, Agnes Fameree, Johanna, Verna Mae, and Cecelia Mae; and many much-loved in-laws.

A memorial service will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, January 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton, with Father John Katamba officiating.  Friends may visit in the Sacred Heart Room at Church on Wednesday from 9 am until 10:45 am.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Anna’s daughter Louise for making it possible for her to live at home, the caring nursing staff at Ascension and the wonderful people at Moments Hospice for the compassionate care given to Anna.
