Connie A. Collins, age 75, of Appleton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Connie was born in Appleton to the late William and Bernice Nack on July 27, 1946. She graduated from Xavier Catholic High School in 1964. On August 10, 1968, Connie was united in marriage to Mike Collins at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton. She worked at Kimberly Clark for over 30 years. Connie was a member at St. Bernard Catholic Church, where she volunteered for many years.
Connie’s joy came from spending time with her family. She gathered them together for a traditional Sunday dinner every week. From being a family chauffer to their number one fan and supporter, Connie loved every minute with her grandchildren. Her talent and love for gardening and cooking came from her close bond with her parents. While Connie greatly enjoyed her time with her kids and grandkids, traveling with her husband brought her happiness. Spending the winters in Anna Maria Island and visiting Erich and Gertrud Holl in Germany, were some of Connie’s best memories.
Connie is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Mike Collins; three daughters: Jill Arnoldussen, Beth (Randall) Reed, and Patti (Ben) Fouts; nine grandchildren: Matt (Brooke), Seth, Sam, Rachel, Lilie, Spencer, Lucie, Aubrey, and Ellie; three brothers: Bill (Cindy) Nack, Gary (Kathi) Nack, and Jeffery Nack; two sisters-in-law: Barb and JoAnn Collins; and a brother-in-law, Ken Vander Zanden. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law LuAnn Vander Zanden, and her two brothers-in-law, Bob and Jack Collins.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 2 pm on Thursday, October 14, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St. Appleton, with Father Mark Mleziva officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm at the church until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
