David “Dave” Charles Weinfurter, age 81, of Appleton, passed away after a battle with Parkinson’s Disease on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Clarence and Lilas (Vogel) Weinfurter on February 17, 1941 in Appleton. Dave married the love of his life, Judith Oakley on September 7, 1963 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. He worked for 30 plus years at Kimberly Clark.
Dave enjoyed many things in life, but his true passions were traveling and camping. He and Judy traveled near and far, seeing things such as Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Hawaii, and most recently New York. He liked to watch the Packers, hunt, fish, eat out, and watch the Doo-Wop Daddies in concert. Dave served many years at Appleton Alliance Church in many roles, mostly the Discovery Land. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Judy; his son Brent (Sara) Weinfurter and their daughter Elizabeth; his siblings Tom (Terry) Weinfurter and Mary (Jerry) Geiger; Judy’s family; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by both of his parents.
A Funeral Service for Dave will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022 at APPLETON ALLIANCE CHURCH, 2693 Grand Chute Boulevard, Appleton, WI 54913. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice Nurses at Compassus Hospice, the staff of Interim Healthcare, especially Heidi, care-givers at Right at Home, and Christy at Synergy, for all the care and compassion they showed Dave and his family.
