passed away at the age of 74, on August 2, 2021. He was born July 27, 1947, in Milwaukee, WI to Donald and Audrey (Koehler) Woelm. He graduated from Lawrence University in 1969 and was a middle school band director for Greenfield School District for over 15 years before becoming the proud owner of his own computer hardware business.
He married Betty Lynn Brown in 1971. Together they raised two daughters, Jennifer and Susie, and a son, Geofrey. During this time, Gary shared his passion and his talent as a big band musician and as a member of a circus band for the annual Great Circus Parade. He also enjoyed sailing and spending time on Okauchee Lake in Oconomowoc, WI.
In 2007, he married Katherine (Anderson) Woelm in Yuma, AZ, where he and Kathy lived when home from traveling. As members of the United Methodist NOMADS, Gary and Kathy travelled nationwide in their RV with their foster dogs.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Audrey Woelm, his second wife, Katherine Woelm, and his granddaughter, Alexandra Woelm.
He is survived by his three children: Jennifer, Susie and Geofrey, and his seven grandchildren: Luke, Leah and Caleb Henckel, Aimee and Daniel Patch, and James and Meagan Woelm.
A Memorial Service for Gary will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 4 pm at the Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. Visitation will begin at 2 pm for family and friends to gather.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of the United States.
