Obituary

Leaving a hole in our hearts, Kaitlyn Marie Blattner unexplainably collapsed with a pulmonary embolism on Tuesday, April 5th, 2022. Her life flickered to an end on Friday, April 8th, 2022, but her body was able to heal and honor her wish to donate her life vessel to save the lives of many others.

Kaitlyn was born on April 25, 2002, to Chris and Jenni Blattner in Appleton, WI. After Kaitlyn graduated from Neenah High School in 2020, she went on to study cyber security at UW-Stout in Menomonie, WI, where she was one year from an early graduation. Kaitlyn was so many wonderful things - she was strikingly beautiful and had an incredible smile that could warm your soul. She was a big sister to look up to (and not just because she was incredibly tall), talented musician, faithful Christian, amateur artist, 2nd degree blackbelt in karate, and even once ran a gourmet cupcake business.

She was gentle with animals, understood complex math, enjoyed writing computer code, loved to read, and watch movies, enjoyed swimming, often played games, and did puzzles, and was so ticklish! She dreamt of having children, pets, a career, and so many future adventures with the love of her life. Echoes of who she was will stay with us always.

Kaitlyn is survived by her soul mate, Brett Kreklau; her parents: Chris and Jenni Blattner; her little sisters: Ally and Megan; her grandparents: Bernie and Judy Blattner and Donna Hance; her aunt Becky Bahr (Paul, Lauren, and Matt), her aunt Michelle Kristie (Jason, Jayden, and Riley), her aunt Nikki Galla (Eric, Christopher, and Hailey), and all of her forever friends including Allyson Koehnke.

Kaitlyn was preceded in death by her grandpa Tom Hance, her great grandparents, her great aunt Donna, and her great aunt Linda.

A Mass of Resurrection for Kaitlyn will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church (404 W. Lawrence St) in Appleton with Rev. Gerry Pehler officiating. Friends may visit the family on Monday from 5 – 8 pm at Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel and also at church Tuesday from 8:30 until the time of Mass. The family encourages donations to the Boys and Girls Brigade in Kaitlyn’s honor, as that organization helped her become the incredible person she was.https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/6949044742
