Llewellyn “Mike” Raisler, age 94, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 26, 2021, after a brief stay at Rennes Health Care Center. Mike was born on the family farm in Bear Creek on December 18, 1926, to the late Andrew and Edna (Sievers) Raisler. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 in Germany. On December 29, 1956, Mike was united in marriage to Elaine Yandre at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Appleton. The couple enjoyed 29 years together until Elaine’s passing in 1985. Mike worked at Foreway Express for many years as a Night Supervisor, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening – but most of all, Mike loved spending time with his grandchildren. As a great teller of stories, he always kept them guessing, even until the very end.
He is survived by his daughter Linda (Fred) Maas, Appleton; granddaughter, Marie (Martin) Kubin, Miami, FL; grandson, David (Kimberly) Maas, Appleton; great grandson, Ryan Maas, Appleton; two sisters: Emy Brezinski, Glen Mills, PA and Mae Sanford, Beloit; and brother, Kenneth Raisler, Bear Creek. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Edna, and his wife Elaine, as well as his sisters Ruth Selle and Geraldine Hedberg.
A private family service will be held.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs at The Renaissance Assisted Living, Rennes Health Care Center, and AseraCare Hospice for the compassionate care given to Mike.
Dad & Grandpa - We will, with much love, carry your memory in our hearts forever.
