Peter M. Ehlert, age 56, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly and sudden in his home on November 11, 2021. He was born to the late Ferdinand and Cecilia (Peter) Ehlert on April 2, 1965 in West Allis. He married the love of his life Heather Baumann in 2005. They met at V&L Tool in Waukesha and were inseparable. They were together for over 27 years. Peter loved fishing, watching NASCAR with his son, tickling Emma to wake up, doing puzzles with Emma, listening to Kiss with both his kids, and going up north to his property in Mountain. Most of all, Peter held very strong family values and cherished every second he spent with his entire family. His wife and kids were everything to him.
Peter is survived by his wife of 16 years, Heather; his children: Austin “Scooter” and Emma “Emma Luigi”; his sister Erika (Andrew) Weiss; brother David (Lara); nephews: Ethan, Aaron, Blade, and Gavin; father-in-law Richard Baumann; his sister-in-law Tina (Heizman); nephews Jakob, Lukas and niece Kassondra; and brother-in-law Joshua Baumann; Aunt Lorna Mae and family; Uncle Mike DeHays and family; Uncle Ernie and family; Kum and Kuma (Joseph and Mary Schauer) and family; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law Kathryn Baumann; Aunt Mary DeHays; and Uncle Henry Ehlert and Uncle John Ehlert. He cherished his friendship with Gary Rogutich, Eric and Jay Navone, Dave Sandvick, Brian Olsen, Shawn VanOoyen, and Tom Schupp; friends at VL Tool; friends at Classic Gears and Machining and also West Allis St. Augustine’s 8th grade class of 1979. Pete’s family would like to extend extra personal thank you to Kathy LaPlante and PJ and Sue Patton during this difficult time.
A Memorial Service for Peter will be held at 12 NOON on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at BRETTSCHNEIDER TRETTIN NICKEL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 606 N Oneida Street Appleton. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
