Obituary

Shirley M. Mueller went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 13, 2020 at the age of 88.  She was born in Cambria, WI, the daughter of the late Harvey and Freda Miller.  At the age of 5 her family moved to Wausau, WI. She finished her primary schooling in Wausau and then attended Valparaiso University, IN.  Shirley married the love of her life, David Mueller, on a very snowy day in Pine City, MN, April 10, 1952, while Dave was home on a short leave from the Navy.

Dave and Shirley spend their early married years in Wausau, WI before moving to Neenah, WI. Shirley became involved with Stone Croft Ministries, as well as Christian Women’s Club.  There she grew her love of Christ and her desire to follow her Savior.  She was very creative and produced 100’s of beautiful Table Favors for Christian Women’s Club.  Her love of crafting grew into larger items which she and her friends sold at large craft sales.  She also contributed her talent by making baby dolls for an international ministry called Dress a Doll.  These dolls were sent to under privileged children around the world and she prayed over each doll.  Shirley also worked at Ling Packaging and Monroe Studios and was a mom to three sons, Robert, Randy and Michael.  After the boys were grown, Dave and Shirley moved to Ashland, OH for a job change for Dave.  They spent 9 years in Ohio before returning to the Fox Valley.

Shirley and Dave loved spending winter months in Florida where they eventually bought a home and made wonderful friends and memories.  Dogpatch, a family cabin in Phelps, WI (for 69 yrs) was also a favorite place for Dave and Shirley.  They worked as a team doing remodeling, raking, mowing and enjoying the peace of the north woods.  Shirley was an excellent cook! The family favorites were her Chicken Soup, Chocolate Popcorn Balls and the highly sought after, KUCHEN!

She is survived by her three sons, Robert and Julie (Stocking) Mueller, Maple Grove, MN. Randy Mueller and Yolanda Cole, Washington, D.C., Michael and Vicky (Stilp) Mueller, Appleton, WI.  Five grandchildren, Ben and Jenni (Anderson) Mueller, Peter Mueller, Adam & Britt (Johnson) Mueller, Ashley (Mueller) & Cheyne Sorensen and Carli (Mueller) & James Varner.  Six great-grandchildren, Alex Mueller, twins Gabe & Levi and little brother Ezra Varner, and Nathanael Mueller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Mueller, parents Harvey & Freda Miller, Wausau WI, one brother Don Miller, Madison, a great-grandchild Adric Sorensen, WA and loving Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.

We want to thank Nicole and Rebecca of Ascension Hospice and Primrose staff for their love and care for Shirley.
